Unified in Progress

Tuesday September 12, 2006

Today, we exercise our freedom – not as a Party – but as Marylanders and Americans.

As we await the results of this Primary Day, we prepare for the next two months.

And more than any other time in this election season, we prepare to face distinct choices that ask us whether we will pursue the politics of division and fear. Or, whether we will be a people who can come together to unite in our shared pursuit of progress.

Choices that ask us whether we will use the hard work of others as political ammunition. Or whether we will find strength in our differences and resolve in our direction.

Because ultimately, we come together tonight in preparation not just for the next two months, but for our lasting future together.
